Unfortunately due to the weather forecast we have decided to cancel tonight’s Junior sessions but we will be back as usual next Monday.

Good afternoon, everyone!

We’re planning to keep tonight’s session on for now. However, if it starts to snow, we may need to cancel. Where I live, we tend to get heavy snowfall (last year I got caught out during a training session). If you live in an area prone to heavy snow, please don’t attempt to come to training if it snows.

I will monitor the weather until 5:30pm and will post here to confirm if the session is on or not. So far, it looks OK until around 10pm.

Our coaches faced a delightful dilemma this October and ended up choosing double the fun for our Player of the Month awards. Clovis & Carson, our dynamic duo, have earned this title together!

These incredible brothers joined the Lion Cubs just 3 months ago, stepping onto the rink with very little skating experience. But in this short time, they have become exceptional listeners and fearless competitors in our practice games.

Though they might not always have the puck, Clovis and Carson are relentless in their pursuit to win it back. They dive into tackles without a second thought and, no matter how many times they tumble, they bounce right back up as if nothing happened.

Keep up the fantastic work, Clovis and Carson! We’re incredibly proud of your progress and can’t wait to see what you achieve next.

New Training Schedule Starting Monday:

• Under 9s Lion Cubs Training Session: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
• Lion Cubs 10 and Over Training Session: 7:30pm – 9:00pm
• Note: No senior sessions on Monday as Wild Lions and Lions Black training has moved to Sundays at Atherton Roller Rink from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.

Monday Night Lion Cubs Junior Training Sessions:

• Ages 9 and Under: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
• Ages 10 and Over: 7:30pm – 9:00pm (for advanced players as well)

Fees:

• Monthly subs: £20 per month
• Pay as you go: £8 for the first session and £2 for the second session

Wild Lions and Lions Black Training:

• New Session Time: Sundays at Atherton Roller Rink, 7pm – 8:30pm (starting 03/10/24)
• No more senior sessions at Ardwick Sports Centre on Monday nights

Payments:

• November: Monthly payments stay at £25
• December: Increase to £30

Over the past few months, our Junior training sessions have welcomed a growing number of new children. We’ve now reached a point where nearly 30 kids are attending each session. To better accommodate everyone, we’re making some important changes at Ardwick Sports Centre:

1. Splitting Monday Night Lion Cubs Training:

• Ages 9 and Under: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
• Ages 10 and Over: 7:30pm – 9:00pm

1. Merging Wild Lions and Lions Black:

• New session time: Sundays at Atherton Roller Rink, 7pm – 8:30pm (Start date to be confirmed soon). Until we have this date confirmed we will hold the joint season at Ardwick Sports Centre on a Monday night 9:00pm until 10:30pm.

1. Saturday Training Changes:

• Introductory session for new players and skills session for existing Lion Cubs.
• Maximum of 25 players on a first-come, first-served basis.

By making these changes, we can offer more focused and effective coaching, reduce waiting times, and provide more one-on-one training opportunities. This will help all players improve their skills and ensure our Wild Lions and Lions Black players can progress together.

We understand these changes might not suit everyone’s schedule, but they are essential for the growth and development of our Junior teams, especially during this record-breaking season with 8 teams competing in 7 different leagues.

Payment Information:

• November payment plans remain the same.
• Refunds are available for those who can’t make the new schedule.
• Junior training costs will stay the same, but we may increase Wild Lions and Lions Black fees by £5 per month from December (review pending).

As we enter the final week of our October fitness challenge, it’s amazing to see the dedication and effort from everyone involved! Adults (18+) have been taking on one of two levels:

• Level 1: 50 pushups, 50 situps, 50 squats, 30 sec plank, 30 sec wall sit
• Level 2: 100 pushups, 100 situps, 100 squats, 60 sec plank, 60 sec wall sit

For the kids (18 and under), the challenge includes:

• 10 pushups, 10 situps, 10 squats, 30 sec plank, 30 sec wall sit

Players and parents have been sharing their progress in a group, motivating each other to stay committed throughout the month. We are incredibly proud of everyone participating, even those doing their own thing. Keep pushing through as we head into the final week!
