🏒 Exciting Progress in the October Fitness Challenge! 🏒

We’re thrilled to share the progress both Lions Inline Hockey Club and Riverside Raiders Ice Hockey Club are making in the October Fitness Challenge🌟

It’s fantastic to see our senior players setting an excellent example for the Lion Cubs, showing dedication and determination. But what’s even more inspiring is seeing everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, getting stuck in and embracing the challenge with enthusiasm!

If you can’t do the workout plan set by coach Ben due to doing other fitness programs or sports don’t worry share them with the group and send us your progress as coach James will be joining the group this week but this will be on his own training due him trying to fit things into a busy schedule already.

Keep up the great work, everyone! Your commitment and teamwork are what make our clubs truly special.

His dedication and hard work are unmatched, and he always goes out of his way to welcome new players, regardless of their age or experience. Holden’s respectful attitude and eagerness to learn make him a pleasure for the coaches to teach. We’re proud to have him on our team!

Lion Cubs Junior Training: A Year of Remarkable Growth

The past 12 months have been transformative for our Lion Cubs junior training program. We’ve seen incredible growth in participation, with our sessions now bustling with energy and enthusiasm. Let’s celebrate the milestones and achievements that have marked this fantastic journey.

Surge in Participation: One of the most exciting developments has been the increase in the number of players attending our sessions. We’ve grown from around 8 players per session to nearly 20 players per session. This surge is a testament to the program’s appeal and the community’s trust in our training methods.

Diverse Age Range: Our program now boasts an amazing range of ages, from our youngest members, who are just 4 years old, to our oldest players at 13. This diversity enriches our training environment, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mentorship among the players.

Welcoming New Players: Most of our players are new to the sport, which is exactly what we love to see. The more new children we get into our team, the brighter the future of inline hockey will be. Our mission at Lions Inline Hockey Club is to grow the sport and make everyone feel welcome, regardless of age, gender, or abilities.

Why Get Kids Into Inline Hockey?

  • Physical Fitness: Inline hockey is a fantastic way for kids to stay active and healthy.
  • Teamwork: The sport teaches valuable lessons in teamwork and cooperation.
  • Skill Development: Players develop a range of skills, from skating to strategic thinking.
  • Fun and Engagement: Most importantly, it’s a fun and engaging way for kids to spend their time.

Our Commitment: We strive to set an example from our main senior Lions team right down to our Lion Cubs. We offer 5 inline sessions a week, including:

  • 2 Junior sessions
  • 1 Women’s session
  • 1 Beginner senior session
  • 1 Senior team session

Additionally, we have an ice senior session with our friends at Riverside Raiders. Whether you’re looking to get into inline or ice hockey, we have a session and a team for you.

Join Us: For more information, visit our website, drop us a DM on any of our social media sites, or email us at info@lionsihc.co.uk. We look forward to welcoming you to the Lions family!

Exciting Times Ahead for Inline Hockey!

Hi All,

We all know that last season had its challenges, but thanks to everyone’s hard work and dedication, our leagues not only started but also successfully completed their seasons! The West League introduced a new Junior league across various age groups and a new C League, while the North West Rink organized an end-of-season nationals for the Senior A & B teams.

Amidst the recent rumours and uncertainty about the new season, we have some fantastic news to share. The league’s new committee has posted an update:

“Hi All,

We wanted to provide some clarity amidst the recent, negative rumours. Following the director of BRHA stepping down last season, the committee has decided to take this opportunity to reassess our direction. We will be discontinuing the BRHA brand and moving forward as the UK Inline Hockey Federation (UKIHF). Our focus will be on grassroots development, reinvesting in our communities, and ensuring transparency within the sport.

We appreciate your patience as we finalize the details. Registration will open soon, and I’ll keep you updated on the progress. Sportily is also being updated with new information. We’re excited for the 24/25 season and look forward to seeing everyone there!”

The Lions are proud to be part of this new era, which promises to be our biggest season yet! We will have teams in the Junior league for under 8s, 10s, and 12s, two teams in the West C league, one team in the North West B League, and one team in the North West A league. Additionally, we are excited to participate in the 2025 On The Rocks female tournament in Ireland this February, and our senior team is gearing up for an international tournament!

Inline hockey has faced challenges since the 2020 pandemic, but with the sport growing again, especially at the youth level, and the positive direction of the UKIHF, the future looks incredibly bright.

If you’re looking for a new club or want to try inline hockey, drop us a message via any of our social media sites or email info@lionisihc.co.uk to find out which of our five weekly sessions suits you best.
