We’ve been part of this incredible celebration of women’s inline hockey since 2019, and every year it gets better. With teams from across the UK and Europe, OTR is more than just a tournament — it’s a movement. A movement to grow, empower, and showcase the fierce talent in the female side of our sport. 💪🏽💥
We were set to have Isabella Buxton #09 guarding our net, but due to an injury last week, her position is currently TBC. Massive thanks to the amazing OTR community and fellow teams who’ve stepped up to help us find a replacement — the spirit of this tournament is unmatched. ❤️

What a way to wrap up the season! Lions Black absolutely smashed it on the final West League game day, walking away with two brilliant wins and a dramatic comeback draw that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
For the first time all season, the majority of the squad was available—and it showed. The team’s growth over the season was on full display, and the results speak for themselves:
🔥 Game 1: Lions Black 4 – 1 Macclesfield White Facing the league leaders, Lions Black held their own in a tight 2–1 battle before sealing the deal with two late goals in the final two minutes. A huge statement win!
🔥 Game 2: Lions Black 3 – 1 Northstars Northstars struck first, but Lions Black didn’t flinch. They took control and never looked back, dominating the rest of the game to secure their second win of the day.
🔥 Game 3: Lions Black 2 – 2 Lycans Despite controlling the game, two defensive errors saw the team trailing 2–0 in the first period. But Lions Black showed heart and determination, fighting back and netting the equaliser with less than a minute on the clock!
Although the team finished at the bottom of the table, spirits couldn’t be higher. This was a squad that came together for the first time this season and improved massively with every game day. The final day’s results were a testament to their hard work and resilience.
🦁 Looking Ahead We’re regrouping and already setting our sights on next season. If you’re looking for a new team to join for the 2024/2025 season, we’d love to hear from you! Drop us an email at info@lionsihc.co.uk or send us a DM on any of our social media platforms.
What a weekend for our Under 12s! Not only did they bag their first league win of the season, but the whole squad showed incredible improvement across the rink. 💪
🌟 Coaches Player of the Day goes to Ellis – at just 7 years old, Ellis stepped up to play with the Under 12s and absolutely smashed it! His effort was unmatched, showing real leadership in defence, making big blocks and tackles, and even netting 3 goals! A true rising star and rink commander! 🚀🥅
🔥 Hardest Worker was chosen by last game’s winner Lucas, and he picked Theo – and what a choice! Theo got stuck in, made some huge blocks, and was a brilliant, supportive teammate throughout. Top work, Theo! 👊
👏 A special shoutout to our Under 8s and 10s netminder Hollie, who bravely stepped up to help the Under 12s today – amazing job! And a big welcome to Charlie, who made his junior debut – great to have you on the team!
💬 Our coach said they could’ve picked any of the players for Player of the Day – the improvement across the board was just that good!
