Sunday saw the Lions Senior team back in the BRHA West league taking on the Outcast who were looking to take the top spot from Preditors and against our Friends but also B Nationals spot rivals Wrexham.
In the 1st game of the day, Lions played well and were holding Outcast in the 1st but you could tell the difference in experience between the two teams as they did not give our players any space and managed to limit how many shots got through to their keep. The game finished 18 – 1. This was not the result Lions were looking for but the players never gave up and gave everything they had in this game Outcast was just too strong and had a game plan that worked very well. Lions play outcast again in a few weeks and we will be looking to improve on that score 2nd time round.
Our 2nd game of the day saw Lions play Wrexham and having lost 2 games already to the teams fighting for a B Nationals spot this was a must-win game for them.
The game started off very even with both teams making chances and both netminders playing well and keeping the scores down but in the 2nd period Wrexham managed to get a grip of the game and took control of the game with Lions trying to find their feet and although the lads pushed in the last 5 minutes of the game when they managed to gain control of the puck the Werxham players and keeper stayed solid in defense and finished off the game with a big 10 – 2 win.
This weekend was not the results our players were looking for but we still have a good chance at finishing in a Nationals sport and still have sites on 3rd and the players are ready to regroup as we have 3 big games on 25th June where we play Cobras, Slush Puppies & Newport Knights.
46:10 – End of class game Lions are looking at getting more children into inline hockey and this is the perfect class to get your little ones involved in.
If you would like to book our next class then see our website www.lionsihc.co.uk on when our next class is being held or contact info@lionsihc.co.uk for more information.
We also have some other designs on the way for Pants hoodies and other items which will be live on the Dangle Club store so anyone who missed out on an order this time will be able to put their own order in for anything else going forward.
The Lions Senior team will be the 1st team to use the new jerseys this weekend when they are back playing Outcast and Wrexham this Sunday in the BRHA West League and Wild Lions will be showing off their new jerseys next month when they take part in the BRHA West On the Rocks Tournament.
We have been using our new booking system for 2 weeks now and we have had a few people who have had issues when coming to book for a 2nd time we have created a guide on how to make a booking for everyone new and registered.
The page can be found in the Events drop-down or by clocking this link.
We will also be adding another cash option to the booking page where we are asking everyone who prefers to pay via cash to use this method to book the session and we can then collect cash when at the event.
If anyone has any issues or questions please send us a message via our Contact Us Page.
