It’s incredible to witness the progress our Rookie Cubs are making. Most of our players joined within the last 12 months, and our coaches have been working hard to develop the fundamental skills needed to play inline hockey.
At this Monday’s session, we saw a huge improvement from everyone. From being steadier on their feet to delivering more powerful passes—and all with big smiles on their faces! It’s clear how far our Rookie Cubs have come.
This dedicated group of players is now gearing up to take on the UKIHF Junior Leagues next season, competing in the Under-8s and Under-10s categories. With the sport experiencing massive growth, it’s an exciting time for these young athletes to showcase their skills!
We still have spaces available for this season’s sessions, held every Monday from 6pm to 7pm at Ardwick Sports Centre. Designed for beginner players aged 4 to 14, there’s no equipment or experience required. The first month is free, and membership is just £25 per month after that.

As we wrap up an incredible 2024/2025 season, we’re already gearing up for what promises to be an even bigger and better season ahead! The Lions Inline Hockey Club is excited to announce that our training sessions are now open for players of all levels to prepare for the upcoming leagues.
Seniors Teams We’re aiming to compete in the following leagues for the 2025/2026 season:
Cost: £32.50 per month. If you can attend both sessions, there’s no extra charge!
Lion Cubs Junior Teams Our junior teams are growing! We’re looking to enter teams in the UKIHF Junior West Leagues for the under 8s, 10s, 12s, and 14s categories.
Junior training sessions:
Rookie Cubs (Beginners)
Mondays: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Ardwick Sports Centre
Designed for all beginners, up to age 14.
Lion Cubs (Advanced Juniors)
Mondays: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Location: Ardwick Sports Centre
For advanced players up to age 15. Players aged 14+ with higher skill levels may be invited to join our senior training sessions on Sundays or Thursdays, as determined by the coaches.
Cost: £25 per month (includes Sunday or Thursday sessions).

What an amazing day at the UKIHF Junior Easter Iron-Man Tournament! This fun-filled event brought together players from the under 8s, 10s, 12s, and 14s leagues for an exciting 3-on-3 tournament. It was all about having fun, gaining experience, and making memories!
A massive well done to our Lion Cubs who took part:
Hollie, our under 8s keeper, was outstanding all day. She faced some big, powerful shots from the older players but wasn’t fazed at all, making some incredible saves throughout the tournament.
Isabella, who’s only been playing in goal for three weeks, pushed herself out of her comfort zone and joined the fun! She made brilliant saves, helped win games for her teams, and even made at least one save in numerous shootouts. What a fantastic achievement!
Ellis, another under 8s player, joined in to gain experience playing with and against older players. His team, Top Banana, showed great teamwork and spirit, going on to win the tournament!
A huge thank you to all the players and parents for their support today, and a special shout-out to everyone who made Isabella feel so welcomed. It’s moments like these that highlight what the UKIHF Junior setup is all about: fostering a welcoming environment, building new friendships, and creating unforgettable experiences for all.
