As the 2023/2024 season draws to a close, we’re excited to announce some updates to our Monday night training sessions. These changes are designed to enhance your experience on the rink and provide more opportunities for growth and skill development.
Lion Cubs Session:
Previous Time: 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
New Time: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Reason: Due to the incredible growth of our Monday night Lion Cubs training, we’re extending the session by an additional 30 minutes. This will allow our young players to maximize their time on the rink.
Wild Lions Training Session:
Time: 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Lions Black Session:
Time: 9:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Joint Mixed Session:
Time: 9:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Purpose: In preparation for potentially hosting a mixed team in the North West B league next season, we’ll have a joint session. This will give players a chance to mix and engage in game-type drills beyond the basics.

As another weekend comes to an end, it’s time for another exciting night of training sessions with the Lions Inline Hockey Club! Join us tomorrow night for three fantastic sessions:
6:30 PM: Lion Cubs Junior Training (Ages 4-14, any experience level welcome)
A huge congratulations to our Lions Black team for completing their first season in the BRHA West C League! This team, composed of male players aged 15 to 60 who attend our Monday Night training, has shown incredible dedication and improvement throughout the season.
Despite being a mix of older and younger players with little to no experience playing inline hockey at a senior level, the team managed to pick up 4 points and demonstrated significant progress. Special shoutouts to:
Tommy: Top goal scorer with 8 goals.
Mick: Scored 3 goals.
Sam: Most improved player, finishing with 2 goals.
Jon: Our new keeper, showing great improvement with each session.
The team’s togetherness and growth have been truly inspiring. We’ve also gained a few more players eager to join next season, and we can’t wait to see the team build on this year’s achievements.

We’re thrilled to announce that our very own Oliver will be leading this Saturday’s session! Oliver, one of our senior players, has been with the Lions since he was a junior. The kids absolutely adore him because he always brings fun and engaging drills, from basic skating and shooting to mini-games and competitions.
If you haven’t experienced one of our sessions with Oliver, now’s your chance! Lion Cubs Inline Hockey training is perfect for children aged 4 to 14. No equipment or prior experience, including skating, is required. Plus, the first session is free! After that, it’s just £20 for a monthly membership or £8 per session.
Join us every Saturday at 10:30 AM and Monday at 6:30 PM at Ardwick Sports Centre. Please arrive at least 20 minutes early to find equipment and get changed.

Our Wild Lions Inline Hockey Team has had an incredible first season! Despite picking up only 2 points, the team received glowing feedback from other teams on their improvements and playing style. 🏒
In the 2023/2024 BRHA West C league, the Wild Lions adopted a compact defense strategy, aiming to concede fewer goals while enhancing their attacking play. And guess what? It worked! As the season progressed, they spent less time defending and more time creating scoring opportunities. 🥅
Dani led the goal-scoring charge with 5 goals, while Claire and Frase tied for second place with 2 goals each. Grace and Sammy topped the assists chart with 2 each. 🙌
Big shout to Molly who only started playing inline hockey a few months ago and made her debut on Sunday have an excellent defensive game and even found herself on the score sheet.

We’ve got 2 netminders ready to go, and we’ll be running through about an hour of intensive drills followed by a thrilling game to cap off the night. This session is perfect for anyone with their own gear and at least a high C Level standard.
⚠️ Please note: This is the main Lions Senior training, so expect some high-level drills! If you’re new to the sport and looking for the basics, join us on Monday nights at the Ardwick Sports Centre.
