Massive well done to Lions Under 16s team this weekend playing with 5 players plus a keeper, getting to the final where unfortunately they lost a very tight game 5 – 2, but even though they were gassed at the end they never gave up.
A.Rushby also took the most points award finishing on 38 with 21 Goals, 17 Assists.
Massive thanks to the parents for being the players down this weekend.
Shout out to Carl Dermott for running the bench and to Nicola Gotts for getting the team together for the season and the Nationals as without you two this weekend would have not been possible.
Also a big thanks to our Senior players and junior players who came down to support the team today and we can’t wait to see some of this team play with Senior Lions next season.
It’s been an amazing weekend of hockey at North West Roller Sports Rink and we are hoping that next season will be an even better one for the club as we enter more BRHA leagues.
In this week’s Wild Lions Women’s inline Hockey Training Oliver took the coaching spot and James went in goal.
The two coaches worked on shooting by getting the payers to look for gaps that keepers leave when moving and looking to lift the puck just over the leg pads and in between the blocker and catcher.
As is the school holidays Ellis joined the session again this week and wanted the camera to show his shooting on Daddy (Coach James) The drills were as follows:
53:10 – Figure of 8 with the puck make a pass to the coach and continue skating receive a pass and skate down the rink looking for a spot to score on the keeper

A big thank you to the group of players who joined today’s 1st Junior Inline Hockey session we have held since lockdown. We defo have something to build on with players aged 4 to 14 attending.
Unfortunately, the cameras did not record today and someone (James) had turned them on but not pressed the record button.
We hope to see everyone back for our next Junior training on 12th of August.
If you still want your hockey fix for this weekend join us for our Everyone Inline Hockey class tomorrow 10:30am (Doors open from 10:10am) until 12pm at Ardwick Sports Centre.

Teddy joined our Everyone Inline Hockey Clas on Sunday putting skates on for only the 2nd time and trying hockey for his 1st time.
Although Teddy was a little nervous at the start of the class he was full of confidence by the end.
This video is the full class from the view Teddy had as he wanted to show everyone his experience via our player came.
Teddy went from wanting Coach James to hold his hand to telling him to go away he can do it himself.
There were plenty of falls and missed swipes at the puck but the giggles in everything he did shows how exciting and fun the sport can be even at the age of 4.
Lions would like to say a big well done to Teddy for being so brave to try the sport out of the 1st time and showing massive improvement in just 1 session we hope to see you back with us very soon and joining in with the other children taking part in drills.
If you think inline hockey could be a sport your children would enjoy then come and join our Lions Junior training session on a Saturday or our Sunday Everyone Inline Hockey Class at Ardwick Sports Centre both at 10:30am until 12pm.
No experience or equipment is required as we teach children basic skating and stick-handling skills.
Children’s 1st two sessions are also free and just £5 a session after this. We also offer children the chance to take part in-game days and hockey is also a great way to make new friendships.
