We are excited to launch the first video in our series showcasing our netminders from both the Lions Inline Hockey Club and Raiders Ice Hockey Club. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing footage from all 5 of our training sessions where our netminders wore head-mounted cameras, giving you a unique view of the game from a keeper’s perspective.
Our first video features Henry at this Sunday’s Lion Hockey Hustlers training, where we held a scrimmage session. Although this was a senior training session for C and B League players, we also welcomed under 16 players looking for more experience. Henry, who doesn’t play for the Lion Cubs but is friends with Ellis, joined the session. His mum, Emma, has recently rejoined both our Hockey Hustlers and Senior Lions sessions to get back into the sport and asked if Henry could come along and train.
This video provides an inside look at the game through the eyes of a junior player and showcases how athletic children can be. Henry made some amazing saves during the session and even demonstrated some of the stretches he does before games to our other keepers. Let’s just say, they showed their age trying to keep up!
The camera did slip down at one point, giving us a unique view of Henry’s hand and feet movements. There is also a great section where Henry gives an update on how he and his mum are getting on in the session.
A massive well done to Henry for stepping up and managing to play 40 minutes—an impressive feat for a child his age.
If you or your little one would like to try going in goal or as a player, drop us an email at info@lionsihc.co.uk.
