Lions Inline Hockey Club: 2023/24 Season Wrap-Up πŸŽ‰

What an incredible season it has been for the Lions Inline Hockey Club! From thrilling firsts to unforgettable memories, we’ve had it all. Here’s a look back at our journey:

Junior League Adventures πŸ’

This season, we made a triumphant return to the junior league, with our players competing in the BRHA West Junior League. We teamed up with the Predators and Knights for the under-8s, and with the North Stars for the under-12s. The kids had a blast, gaining valuable experience and even scoring some goals and assists!

New Teams, New Beginnings 🌟

We introduced two new teams in the West League: our female team, Wild Lions, and our entry-level senior team, Lions Black. Both teams showed tremendous improvement throughout the season, finding their rhythm in league hockey. Wild Lions also participated in the On The Rocks Tournaments, marking the first time our entire team took part. Next season, we’re aiming to include a netminder!

Senior Team Success πŸ†

Our senior team had a stellar season, securing 2nd place in the BRHA West League and winning the BRHA North West League. They also competed in nationals, coming just one win shy of the semi-finals. Special shoutouts to Oliver and Alfie for stepping up to the senior division and making an impact, and to Callum for his confident penalty shot at Nationals! Jack also deserves a big shout out for winning top points player in the BRHA North West B League with 86 points scoring 64 goals and 22 assists.

Partnerships and Growth 🀝

We’ve partnered with Riverside Raiders Ice Hockey Club, fostering a unique collaboration between ice and inline hockey. This partnership is all about spreading awareness and showing that both forms of hockey can work together harmoniously.

Looking Ahead to 2024/25 πŸš€

Next season promises to be our biggest yet! We’re excited to introduce three junior teams in the BRHA West Junior League (under-8s, 10s, and 12s). Wild Lions and Lions Black will compete in the BRHA West C League, while our senior team will take on the BRHA West A/B round-robin split league and the BRHA North West A League. We’ll also have a mixed team of Wild Lions and Lions Black players in the BRHA North West B League.
